Tilt Shift

This was my first experience with the tilt shift technique. I don't know how successful it is.  The image is of the Aztec Sun pyramid located in Mexico.  This was the first time going to Mexico after 20 years and I was able to experience this monument.

Digital Hand Coloring

I started out liking the image in color, but I needed to do a hand coloring.  I decided to keep the red leaf its original color (RED) but then spiced up the background by coloring in the rocks in different color, but never red so they wouldn't take away form the leaf.

Boken Blur

I really loved this picture of my cousin.  He was just sitting there with no idea I was photographing him.  The picture was taken really early in the morning after a late night bonfire.  He was either still tired or was using the quite morning to meditate.

Update: This image became his senior portrait.  During his senior year he did not take/have the time to get portraits made.  After my aunt saw this photograph, she wanted to have it to take the place of the one he should have given her.  I was happy to give it to her.  What I was not expecting was the look on her face when she open her Christmas present.  I did not know my work could bring that kind of emotion in a person.
This image is now a 16 x 20 digital print.

Peace and Quite...blurb book project

Diptychs

This project was difficult to start.  I did not want to repeat/copy other photographers' work, and many of my other ideas seemed pointless.  One day while walking to class I looked at a tree which had branches that were over lapping and instantly thought of hair being braided.  After that I realized how much my mind instantly brought up an image of something that resembled what I was physicality looking at.  Sadly the tree image did not translate well into photograph form, but I was able to find other objects that did. With this project I wanted to show how man is bring back nature into every day objects after we have come in and destroyed a lot of it.

Dramatic Lighting: Alien Invasion!

For this series I accidentally discovered this blue light while I was balancing my image for tungsten lighting. The blue light produced a very ire feel that looked very alien like.  So I used it to my advantage.  The idea was that, if aliens excited, it would not matter how old you were or what you were doing, they could take you.  I ended up scaring myself with the idea. I hope they can produce the same emotions in others.
